Hawaiian Wildlife
“Hawaiian Wildlife” 20” x 24” on hardboard panel, Painted October 2025
I did this painting as a Christmas gift for two great friends on the Big Island, Hawaii. We have spent many vacations visiting them including a couple of trips staying at Kapoho not to far from Hilo. We stayed at “Lagoon House I” with our family and Lagoon House II” with friends, Clark and Marilyn Tuck. Both places had warm water ocean lagoons that were fenced in to hold the tropical fish from escaping into the open ocean. I combined some of the pictures I had taken there with some that Karen and I took on another trip to Moorea in 2018, to build this composition. Unfortunately, a recent lava flow from Kilauea Volcanco destroyed all of the properties in that area. Fortunately, we still have Great Memories and lots of pictures!
