Snowy Creek

I took the reference photo for this painting on Highway 120 between Groveland, CA and Yosemite in November 2017. The late afternoon sun was filtering through the trees and the recently fallen snow was glistening in the sunlight. The long shadows lent some serious drama to the scene I thought. The day in Yosemite was absolutely gorgeous!
